highest standards of professionalism and artistic excellence. In March 2000, the ensemble became an independent
incorporated foundation under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, marking a new chapter in its legal and
artistic journey. Since then, it has continued to thrive\u2015presenting five regular subscription concerts annually, along
with over 60 planned performances, regional and international tours, guest appearances, and public events. The
National Chorus of Korea commands a broad and dynamic repertoire, ranging from medieval to contemporary
works. Its performances span a wide variety of genres, including Korean art songs, folk music, film scores, and
musicals\u2015often in collaboration with orchestras\u2015pioneering new possibilities in choral expression. Notably, the
ensemble is dedicated to establishing Korea\u2019s distinctive vocal techniques and interpretive approaches, while also
advancing the development and dissemination of choral works. At the same time, through new-work discovery
initiatives\u2014such as large-scale cantata commissions and competitions for original compositions\u2014the Chorus presents
a forward-looking vision for the future of Korean choral music. In October last year and again in July this year,
commemorating the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Korea and Japan, the
Chorus appeared on stages in Japan including The Symphony Hall Osaka, Kyoto Concert Hall, and Tokyo Opera City
Concert Hall. In November 2026, it is scheduled to present a joint performance at Walt Disney Concert Hall by invitation
of the Los Angeles Master Chorale(LAMC).<\/span><\/p>
